CLIENT: BLOORVIEW HOSPITAL

AGENCY: OCAD UNIVERSITY

In 2011 I had the opportunity to work in a project for the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital through the OCAD University. We were asked to design an interactive experience that could be placed in the waiting area for kids with disabilities. Our team designed an interactive projection display where children with disabilities could interact and play by walking on top of a grid of sensors hidden underneath the carpet of the waiting space.

Some of the design requirements from Holland Bloorview were to:

•Support a broad range of users who have varying motor skills.

• Create a calming waiting environment.

•Promote positive social interactions between children, encouraging them to play together and engaging but not addictive like video games.
